The cottage was charming and spotlessly clean. The views from the hilltop location were breathtaking, with views of Whitby Abbey and the Larpool Viaduct. The welcome pack filled with goodies was a lovely surprise. The cottage was well-furnished and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
There was no blind in the bathroom, as it made us feel uncomfortable when showering. The boiler in the open plan living area was quite noisy and banged every time it came on.

The location was fantastic with beautiful views and easy access to nearby attractions. We enjoyed seeing the sheep in the adjacent field and even spotted rabbits and a badger in the evenings. The parking was convenient and the cottage itself was tastefully decorated and cozy. The owners went above and beyond, arranging flowers and champagne for our arrival. The well-appointed kitchen allowed us to cook our own meals, and the nearby butcher shop had everything we needed. a perfect stay for our family and we can't wait to visit again!
We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful time staying at Grosmont Cottage in Ruswarp. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had stunning views. It was conveniently located, making it easy for us to explore nearby places. We especially enjoyed watching the sheep in the field next to the cottage and spotting rabbits and a badger in the evening. The parking was great and unloading/loading the car was a breeze. The three-night stay was perfect for us, allowing us to make the most of our time off.
While the cottage was lovely, it is important to note that it is part of a complex with other properties. It wasn't as secluded as we had expected, and the walk into the village of Ruswarp was a bit longer than we anticipated.

Staying at Grosmont Cottage, Ruswarp felt like a true home away from home. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay special, with thoughtful details that made the place feel special. I appreciated the eco-friendly touch of not having a dishwasher. It was a short walk into Whitby, but being nestled on a hilltop away from the hustle and bustle made it a perfect tranquil location. The views were amazing and it was a real hidden gem.
While we loved our stay at Grosmont Cottage, there were a few minor drawbacks. It would have been helpful to have a blind in the bathroom for added privacy.
